After teaching preschool in Iowa for six years, Marisa was called to be director and lead teacher of Mt. Calvary’s Preschool. Marisa has been with Mt. Calvary since 2006.
I have been a member at Mt. Calvary since 2007 and I have been the Director of Youth since 2009. I married my wife Rosie at Mt. Calvary in 2007 and our son Josh was born in 2014. I graduated from Northwestern College in St Paul with a Youth Ministries major and I also have a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University St Paul. My full time work is teaching preschool age children at Open Arms, an LCMS early childhood center in Bloomington. At Mt. Calvary I teach a youth Bible class on Sunday mornings during the school year and we have monthly youth events. I also play guitar and sing at the contemporary service. I enjoy watching sports, reading, having campfires in the backyard, and just being with my family.
I am a life-long member of Mt. Calvary and feel blessed to have served as the Director of Parish Music since 1995. I was given my first opportunity to play the organ for this congregation at a very young age on Christmas Eve. All these years later, Christmas Eve service is one of my very favorites. I am surrounded by numerous musicians that all work together to provide both traditional and contemporary music for worship as well as opportunities for enthusiastic Vocal and Handbell choirs. In our sanctuary, we enjoy a beautiful 25 rank pipe organ, two pianos, guitar, and electronic drum set, three octaves of handbells and various other instruments. ~ Soli Deo gloria
