    Holy Communion

I confess that I have sinned. I believe that God graciously forgives my sins for the sake of Jesus Christ. I now desire to receive Holy Communion, in which I receive the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Through this sacrament I am assured of forgiveness. And with the aid of the Holy Spirit I promise to seek to amend my sinful life.

Out of love for our neighbor and obedience to God’s clear Word, Mt. Calvary practices “close Communion” in celebrating the Lord’s Supper. Communicant members of this congregation or of another Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation, who are sorry for their sins, who trust that only by God’s grace through faith in Christ they are saved, and recognize that Christ’s body and blood are really present and are received for the forgiveness of sins, are welcome at the Lord’s Table. For the apostle Paul writes in I Corinthians 11:28: “A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.” If you are not a communicant member of an LC-MS congregation and desire to partake of Holy Communion, please speak to the pastor or an elder of the congregation. For those who choose, you may receive tinctured wine (diluted), which is available in the center of each communion tray.

***Parents are welcome to bring their children with them for blessings; likewise, adults who are not communing are welcome to come forward for a blessing as well. Simply cross your arms in front of you to indicate that you are not communing.
